I wrote an opinion piece entitled ‘Stop the simplified representations of Muslim women’ with Sandra Yi Sencindiver, head of the Danish theatre danskdansk, published in national Danish newspaper Politiken.

I was an early member of the de-colonial collective Marronage and co-edited the first two issues of the publication.
Profile in Information
Danish newspaper Information did a profile on my research. It highlights how my work troubles the effect and premises of an array of diversity initiatives in the Danish film industry.
Interview in Information
In this article, entitled “Identity Politics has contributed to a language, so we can talk about oppression”, I was interviewed for a series about the most important words of the decade for national Danish Newspaper Information. I was selected as an expert on Identity Politics.
VICE covers my work
I consulted with the LGBTQ film festival Copenhagen MIX for the past two years regarding the challenges with representation, transploitation, and racism, that film-festivals are often faced with. The work was covered in a series of media, but VICE did an excellent write-up.
Opinion piece in Politiken
In ‘the real problem is a widespread and normalized rape-culture in Denmark’ my co-authors and I argue that Danish rape-statistics and media-coverage skews our focus and disproportionately targets racial minorities as perpetrators of rape.
TV2 Echo on Fashion
In a recent article for TV2 Echo, on diversity in the Danish fashion industry, I was interviewed about the serious under- and misrepresentation, despite efforts to diversify.
Kristeligt Dagblad on Skam
The Danish national newspaper Kristeligt Dagblad interviewed me for a story on their online platform about representations of race and religion in the Norwegian television series SKAM. The article is entitled: ‘Does SKAM have room for both religion and lust?’.

Killjoy.dk is a fantastic resource for theory, analysis, & language around gender, sexuality, & discrimination in Denmark. I contributed to their web-thesaurus with an entry about transploitation, blaxploitation, & the representational differences between the two.
Radio 4 on Horror
For the 45th year anniversary of “Halloween”, I gave an interview for Danish Radio 4 on monstrosity and fear of the “other” as central to the horror film genre.
Talk Show Perspektiv
On the 30 min researcher talk-show ‘Perspektiv’, which airs on the Danish local television channel TV2 Lorry, my colleague Sabrina Vitting-Seerup and I discussed representation, gender, race, and more in Danish film and media, as well as in our roles as researchers in Danish academia.
Film review for Friktion
In this film ‘reading’ (rather than review) for the intersectional feminist magazine Friktion, I interrogate the representational challenges at play when Hollywood embraces particular narratives about race and sexuality, in this case in the film ‘Moonlight’.
Interview in Berlingske
In this interview in conservative Danish national newspaper Berlingske I discuss the Danish film industry’s challenges with gender equality. Unlike the title, I argue that the issue is structural, and not a question of personal qualities attained by the marginalized women.
